30/04/12- Week in short

"I can do everything through him who gives me strength. Philippians 4:13 NIV"

Trying blogging on my phone for the first time so we'll see how this goes I have no idea what this will look like. Brief cap of my weekend basically lots of chilling and shopping for duke of ed. brought hiking boots but needa work them down so today I've randomly been walking for no reason to wear down the shoes.
Friday: Also had girls bible study I guess you'll call it which was awesome at Gloria jeans. I'm finding that one of the best things is spending time with friends talking about God.
Back to today me and mel had sport. We're doing rollerblading. Let me just say basically it's chaos and unconess from my part.
Hmm well preparing for camp. Camp Wednesday to friday. Gonna be fun Still need to pack. Not much else today I guess.

Ps. Mothers day in two weeks. No idea what to get.

29/04/12 - Sincerely Sunday

"Why are you so downcast, o my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God" Pslam 42:11

Well, I'm really sorry we haven't blogged for a few days. I focus on daily tumblring... But yesterday, was the second game for netball this season, for both of us. Amazaynly, both our teams won! YAY! Well. Then. I don't really know what Joanna did with her life yesterday, but I went out to buy stuff for camp this week. Like. FOOD, MORE TOILETRIES, and of course. SLEEPING BAG. Well my sleeping bag has a temperature rating of -10c. That truthfully to me, is pretty amazing. I'll probably sleep the best when we go out. JKS. But I spent 10 minutes trying it out at home (ie, just lying inside aimlessly) and it was truely warm. Like surprisingly warm...
Also these days, I've feel somewhat unstable. For the past 2 nights, I've stayed up until 2am, watching sad movies (the Notebook, My Sister's Keeper, Bridge to Terebithia and the Last Song) and just crying my heart out. Like add in every sucky thing that happened in your own life, there are quite alot of tears. I mean seriously, what is wrong with me. And then I realised, that all sad movies are about love. Not nessarily love as in 'BABY, I'M MARRYING YOU'. But like in My Sister's Keeper, it's just love, for your family.
And today. Was a pretty boring. Day. For me. Because I had my piano lessons, then I had maths coaching (where I always fail miserably, but I spend my time drawing on the desks <-- my way of saying fu*k you to the teachers) and then I went shopping in Chastwood. What was cool about the shopping trip? Nothing, infact, I (tried) walking 6km back home, except I couldn't do it as I ended up walking only around 2km, so I hailed a cab. BY MYSELF. THE FIRST TIME! Ok. Just generally, for everyone else who will come across to hailing a cab, my themselves. It's one of the best feelings ever. Becuase when it's 5:30 and it's fairly dark, you're on the pacific hwy freezing by yourself, your legs are dying, you can't really walk in ugg boots, you're phone ran out of battery in the middle of the day, you don't know how to catch the bus, because you don't know what the time is and you should have been home an hour ago, sitting onto that car was so good. Yea. And no. the trip cost me $10.4. So right now. I am fairly poor.
And I can't believe it's Sunday night. I've done absolutely no homework this weekend. Thank for like. Shoving this in my face, Sunday. jks. I love you, for putting new girl, and touch on tv. But still. NOO. I HATE MONDAYS. but anyways.

Well thanks for reading :)

24/04/12- School again

For the LORD gives wisdom;
from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.      Proverbs 2:6 NIV

Back to school! Today was the first day back started off at the early hour of 7 for me not that i was actually functioning till much later in the day. It was a welcome relief to start the day with scripture although i must say not much was done, more of choosing what to do and not much of actually doing stuff. Also learnt that mel has GREAT difficulty reading. (read dead as deed which led to the horrible defeat of our awesome team in sherads, pretty sure thats not how you spell it)
Guess not much happened. First time we saw girl we've been having issues with. Still finding it sort of awkward. Got maths homework and an assessment. Back to the old routine what a shame its 10 weeks till the next holidays. Feel like i should start a countdown but like the terms only just begun.
I would also like to say i made a discovery today. Winter uniform skirts feel so much heavier than the summer dress so it feels a lot harder and more awkward to run. Maybe thats just my opinion but i seriously cant wait to summer again. Here comes the cold weather and rain. YUCK!!
Mel's message to the world. She miraculously got 1D tickets. 1D as in one direction thought i should add that incase in many years to come we cant remember. Should also mention she hasn't told me who shes going with. not sure if that means anything but oh well.

All for now,

20/04/12-22/04/12- KYCK!!!

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.    Romans 1:16 NIV

Im back!!!
After a weekend up in Katoomba for KYCK, a Christian youth convention i guess you call it. Had a great time with my youth group and especially learning about doctrines all under the theme of Here I Stand from awesome speakers Sam Chan and Malcolm Gill.
i guess i'll do highlights:
1. Most memorable thing is one of the house that we hired. At first we didnt expect so many coming so we hired one 14 person house but as more and more people came we had to hire another house to accommodate all 22 of us. This was all good until on Friday when the first car load aka me went up and opened to door to this cute little cottage (from outward appearance) and discovered that it was in fact decorate like an old granny house and stunk of old people (no offence) that was all good and fine, even the pink carpet and bright pink walls. The biggest problem WAS THE PORCELAIN DOLLS staring at you in each room and the old painting of people with massive eyes staring at you. The house was also very dark and had very very white and lacy bedsheets and dark bathroom with lots of cupboards. What made it worse were the flickering lights. In the end no one stayed at that house and we crammed 22 people in a 14 person house instead and only used that house as a punishment for our games.
2. The second highlight would be meeting with over 2000 other Christian youths and being able to sing together and enjoy each others company. Did i mention that there was a mosh pit and a band there
3. No camp would be complete without intense D&M sessions and especially on the last night up until 4am.
i guess overall it was amazing to be reminded about why our God is so amazing and how we dont have to do anything to be saved but just believe. So that was my exciting weekend in short.

20/04/12 - Day Out

"Light is shed upon the righteous and joy on the upright in heart. Rejoice in the LORD, you who are righteous, and praise his holy name." Psalm 97:11-12

Today might as well be labelled the 'best' day of my holidays. So it started off with me waking up at 9:30, I can't sleep later than that cause my inner alarm just does that. And then I had fun reading Mockingjay (3rd book from the Hunger Games) in bed. AND THEN. The real fun beings. So my friend, who shall not be named, had a 'date' with this guy that she doesn't like, it was more like everyone pleading the guy to ask her out, cause he likes her, and she agreeing just because she felt sorry? Anyways, as she needed moral support, me and this other friend went. SO moral of the story: STALKING PEOPLE'S DATES ARE FUN :D.

AND then. The day got better, cause my year 6 class had a reunion for the first time in 3 years! (I'm in year 9 so literally we hadn't had a reunion). Firstly, we went laser striking, where ALL of us were owned by 6 year olds, it's was like all of us screaming, how the **** did we just get hit?!?! And it's amazing how in 3 years, some people get so tall or how guy's voices broke :/ Then we played cops and robbers on some oval in Chastwood, the way we did in year 6, only being reminded how unfit we all had gotten because of our lack of ability to run.. and then we went crashing at a guys house. I was surprised my mum didn't say anything, as it was 1, after 6pm and 2, a water fight. My asian mum's turning caucasian!!. jokes....

Anyways. I still haven't started on much of my holiday homework and Jo went to kyck camp... and I know this blog is a bit late cause I fell asleep at my computer last night....
BUT ANYWAYS,
MEL (and Jo) XOXOXOXOXOXOOXOXXOXOOX

hhaha...

19/04/12- Snacking at its Best

Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’Matthew 4:4 NIV

After many days of rain the sun has finally come out. (well where i am). As lovely as this seems it means unfortunately that netball training is not cancelled. Which means heading out to the oval at 7 in pitch black for laps and fitness my favourite (with sarcasm)

I love my mandarins and i have no idea what im doing
Before that though. As you may or may not know I (jo) spend my whole life snacking and eating while i do basically everything. In my bid to become fitter i have now attempted to stop snacking on junk food and instead eat fruit (my mum brought a box of mandarins the other day). So instead of eating ice cream i decided to make myself a milkshake with just a tiny bit of ice cream ( basically not eating ice cream ). I was actually wondering whether to try and make a mandarin milkshake. It sounds quite nice to me but apparently thats a really strange idea (according to the two people the two people i asked) Anyways after i laboured over cutting half a punnet of strawberries, i went to the freezer to get ice cream. THAT IS WHEN TO MY SHOCK HORROR THERE WAS NONE!!!!!! which is actually really strange cos i swear the other day there were two tubs and now here i sulk. The strawberries are still in the blender and i dont know what to do with them. Should probably eat them.

Now I should probably get packing. Going to KYCK tomorrow with youth group SO EXCITED!!!! http://www.kyck.kcc.org.au/

Not sure if i'll blog there yet but see you soon.
xx Jo (and Mel)

PS. trying instagram i was never really a photographing type but apparently it makes everything look nice.
PPS. Im really gonna try mandarin milkshake one day I SWEAR ITS GONNA TASTE NICE!!!!

18/04/12 - Rain Rain Go Away

"And Jesus said unto them ... , "If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to younder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible to you." Romans 1:17

Once again. It rained. Like full on 'lets flood the sidewalks and not let your clothes and towels dry'. So whilst Jo stayed at home I came to my mum's office at 6:30 in the morning. And the only reason that I bothered to get up so early is because my grandparents have come from China, and seriously, I'd do anything to be away from them. Hence me sacrificing my sleep and my home.
Truthfully, nothing much happened to both of us, but for the first time, I was in a room that leaked when it rained (unlike Jo's house...). I was just sitting there, doing 'stuff' and suddenly my converse got wet, like this mysterious pool of water just gathered under my feet. It was quite funny cause this guy spent half the day mopping the water up, wringing it out only to have the water pool up again and the cycle lasted for quite a while.
And so I'm probably not fashionable at all, but from my day reading Dolly and going everywhere on the internet, here's a list of stuff that I REALLY REALLY want:
  • A onesie - like the ones that fully over your hands, feet and has a hood
  • Dr Martens - like a cherry red one or one of the floral ones <3
  • ANY TYPE of satchel
  • A nice printed tee (the ones in dolly cost more than $40) :(
  • A skater skirt.
I just realized, all that there makes a complete outfit. Well apart from the onesie. And talking about clothes, I know it's like 19 degrees but I can't get into my jeans or tights, or any long pants. I'd seriously rather freeze than trying to get into them in this weather, cause I hate the feeling of kinda wet things clinging onto your legs.
And there's so much to do. As in holiday homework. That I have not yet started :/

Anyways.

17/04/12- Solving Our Problem

"But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven." Matthew 5:44-45a

Today we finally basically sorted one of our massive issues for a while with a girl. I guess we can describe it as a complicated and rather confusing misunderstanding which resulted in a very complicated situation involving mainly me.
Well anyway we decided we would today  tackle this mountainous and rapidly worsening issue with lots of facebook messenger and a brutally honest msn chat. Now it is relatively solved we return to our fairly normal lives and mel continues to hope that she wont be stuck in a tent with her.
Lesson for today is that it's always better to have problems solved and that things always happen for a reason or to show you something else. We also promised that in the future we shall try to tell others when theres something wrong with them...mm not sure if that'll actually happen but we'll see.
Besides that not much happened today. It rained heaps and i spent the day sitting in the study (cos thats like one of the only places in my house with reception) watching builders from next door... (im actually normally not this strange. Normally mel is the one watching her 'hot' neighbour taking out the laundry or something. )
Now its still pouring and my house is leaking... what can i say i have an old house with sky lights and lots of wood. Basically whenever it rains we all run around like retards trying to find enough buckets and ice cream containers to collect water.

Thats all for today, now time for me to help my sis who just stuck paper towel on a wall in an attempt to soak up water.

16/04/12- The Beginning

"For I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord, "Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future" Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)

Hi to whoever reads this,

We are Jo and Mel and have decided to share our thoughts and stories here. Basically we have decided to make this blog during this holiday to just talk about stuff.
As much as we try to think of something inspirational we are not the most inspiring people but more awkward (mel) and fail (jo) so we shall share with you our experiences to hopefully help you not become fail or awkward like us.
Let us start by telling you about how we really are quite bad with this and really have no idea what we are doing.
Today Mel has travelled the long and DANGEROUS journey to my home. The goal of her adventure to my house: to start a blog and to practise netball (which we havent done...). Our journey begins when mel misses the train and gets interrogated by a random red cross dude. (dont quite understand either). Upon my arrival, I was calling Joanna to see where her home was, and all I see is the weird person down the road with red shorts wheeling bins.
Once we solved our problems of the bins and how my shorts were actually PINK!!! We spent a few hours doing nothing.... (like actually basically nothing) before having lunch. THEN IT WAS TIME!!!! so here we are after a long time of searching long words and trying to find a pretty name and a pretty picture as well as figuring out what all the random scrolly things and tabs do.
So I (mel) was the one who found the name for this blog. Well we wanted a long and 'clever' name, so we got the dictionary, and did the magic fingers, although it was more like flipping through the pages for long words. UNTIL I SAW. BACCHANALIANS. It actually means: drunken, wild and unrestrained. I don't know how it's a 'nice' name, but it basically just sounds smart cos no one knows what it means.
Anyways this is enough for now.
